Festival celebrations

Deepavali, Holi, Navaratri, Onam, Bihu: the house's festival, in the form of its region.

When Through the year, when the calendar names a festival.
Region Home, village, and town

A festival in India does not take one form on one date. Deepavali is Lakshmi in one house and Kalika in another. Navaratri is garba in one region and Durga in another. Do not make Onam or Bihu a line in a northern calendar. Keep first the form of the region the family comes from.

Pratishthaan does not sell the festival. We write the meaning and the preparation at home: what is possible in the house, and what care a public gathering asks for where there is a crowd and fire. In the request, write the festival, the city, and whether the gathering is of the house or of the neighbourhood.

This is a general introduction. Sequence, materials, and timing change with family, region, and shakha. Your priest and your own custom have the last word.
